An overturned caravan has caused heavy traffic delays on the M5 motorway through Somerset this afternoon.

All three lanes of the northbound carriageway were blocked near junction 21 for Weston-super-Mare.

Emergency services were called to the scene and police directed traffic during the recovery operation.

Motorists were able to get past the incident, but traffic was very slow moving and delays were estimated at around half an hour.

Hope everyone was okay, and noone from here.

Traffic England now reports only one lane now blocked, with delays of 15 minutes. Estimated to clear at 7pm

I posted about the one last Monday on Haldon Hill in South Devon. Always the same places on the M5/A30/A38 etc and likewise, I suspect we know why these incidents happen. The number of times I have had caravans fly past me is too numerous to mention, also cars towing trailers, sometimes big trailers, way way over the limit.

Yes, I do feel sorry for genuine people who have had a accident or genuinely loaded incorrectly because they didn't know any better but as for the people who speed because they think they are invincible well I will say no more.
As for genuine people who don't know how to load up correctly I'd love to be able to tell them and save a lot of misfortune.
