at checkley, forgot to ask today, do they have an on board charger on them? Assumed they had but now I'm worrying as I asked tons of questions but not that one lol!
yes really pleased with it, we went for the free Kampa awning, can never have enough space ;-) These vans are very easy to push by hand if you are fit, unless you're on a steep slope.
still working it all out to be honest as its our first van but I believe it does have an on board charger.
first trip next friday for 5 nights at Bracelands meeting some friends there so I'll update on our return. We've struck lucky on storage too finding a cassoa gold site for £370 a year, just have to wait until our space comes available on 1st July - until then we annoy the neighbours with it on the drive!
Just spent a fortune on all the ancillaries, wastemaster, aqua roll, leisure battery ( went to 110 amp ), gas bottle, wheel lock, hitch lock, awning carpet, tv ............
I'm sure you'll love it. We got ours from venture last October. Not the sport line but had some of the extras that the sport line has. The battery does get charged when you hook up to mains.
Thanks Andy! looked at getting the Altea and adding our own extras but they had the free motor mover on the sportlines which was an extra we wanted so it was a bit of a no brainer. By the time we would have upgraded the hitch, added carpets, had motor mover fitted got tv ariel etc, the Altea would have been more. Must admit, I loved the upholstery in the Altea!
We got the sport line upholstery and centre cushion! Are you going to stay at the little certificated site down the road from Venture for your first night? We did. It was great to stay in it straight away! OH just loves going away in it! I love our tent though and still can't bring myself to sell it - though having awning gives me a bit of canvas to put up and peg out!
Agreed a purchase on a private sale 2011 Altea DT this weekend and collect hopefully next week. Think we knew as soon as we walked in this was the van for us. Very light and wide giving a feel of spaciousness, huge bunks and solid fittings (love the dark wood and white work tops) and to top it all off something we didn't think we would get in a fixed bunk van, a spacious bathroom! in fact huge compared with many as no shower "cubicle"!
No dings or dents due to polyester sides and nice long draw bar so hopefully better stable tow.
Gone from being worried about changing from a FC (loved it) to a very happy bunny about this!
at Andy, no we are bringing it straight back home on the Saturday, it's quite a trek for us and OH is working Sunday morning. We thought it would save having to load everything in to the car for the van too. We will bring it home, take to storage then I can load her up throughout the week with our things, no doubt giving me a good excuse to visit her every day we will be taking van out the following weekend, can't wait
at Sunshinetours, yes I must admit there were so many things that we liked in the DT in comparison to the DK, the bathroom was just one of them. We were swinging towards the DK until we looked at them side by side. We found the DT much brighter inside and I was actually surprised at the headroom between the triple bunks.
Really looking forward to breathing some life in to Sporty, they always look bare without a teatowel, a few toys laying around and a mug or two. A couple of cups of tea on the side too
Saw a DK but bathroom and more closed in feeling of having a smaller bathroom in middle of van just didn't work for us, and you lose extra workspace by no middle dinette table behind kitchen.
Lucky we are all different!
We are going up to Venture Caravans next weekend (Bank Holiday) Have to be honest though we prefer the Sportline DK and will most likely go for that. Everyone's needs and preferences are different :D Both DK and DT are the same size, same price so there's no big deal there I think the main likes between the two for us are, we don't intend on spending much time in the bathroom heehee, can't anyway as water will be limited haahaa and as both the DT and DK have shower curtains there's not that much difference in them...we don't think anyway....still have to stand on the shower tray to use the loo and still have to clean up after use it made no difference. We are also wary of the wood in the DT, especially if everything isn't dried properly. We had bad experiences with wood like a BBQ, spent £250 on one and even had it covered and damp got in. Same happened to our wooden garden loungers. Didn't have either of them long either We also like the fact of the DK that it has a totally separate area, like 2 rooms, so the kids can go and watch or play games in a totally closed off area with a proper concertina door, leaving us adults to enjoy the rest of the space. The bunks are also open to the room they are in making them seem more spacious and so not claustrophobic as the DTs seem to be. Funny the similar complaint between the DT and DK's bathrooms LOL. The extra room is also a handy place to go and get changed in privacy from the main seating area at the front. Will also come in handy if anyone is ill or wants some alone time. They would have the whole back end to relax in. Also like the distance between the bunks and the handy storage under the bottom one. Didn't like the DT's bottom bunk as its on the floor....could get dusty and dirty with the door being opposite the bunks and the curtain gets blown about if closed. There's pros and cons for both of the models, but i think you have to choose what you feel will benefit you more. Both caravans are light and airy as they have ample windows and skylights, although we are going to ask to have the kitchen/front lounge one to be made into a full heiki as apparently they are ready for that and is a simple job. We will also pay extra for the electric element for the heater. We plan on pitching on a seasonal pitch and as this is open for a number of months in the winter so to make sure we all stay toasty warm, this is important. Love the extras on the Sportline including its stickers....as Venture says, its an in-between to their next model up Can't wait to go up now this coming weekend. We have seen the altea in the flesh and the sportline via photos venture emailed us also the youtube videos. Hope everyone is having fun with their Adria vans and as said all our tastes and requirements are different and we shouldn't be knocked for them. We will be first timer caravan owners and we can't wait. Love reading all the posts on those who have them already....the pros and the cons' and the ugrades that people have done on them.
