I am seeking some information from an owner of this type of van please?
I can see online the washroom layout and pics. It looks like the basin is a foldaway type and the screen draws across the toilet but I can't see what protects the window and door when showering.
If there's anyone out there with one of these 'vans I'd appreciate some info. There's one that will be for sale next week 70 miles from home but I don't want to go on an unnecessary journey. Dealer has agreed a trade in on it but not got it yet.
Any other info on opinion of the van also appreciated. Thanks

Hi There Oxter,

We bought a 2011 Stellar as our first van, I'm a keen cook and wanted plenty of worktop space plus the van has a feeling of plenty of space for a lightweight 2 berth.

The washroom only has a shower screen, but I was told that the internal boards are all waterproof and designed for the shower. The door has a seal all the way round (similar to what you can get to go round a bath) and a lip around it prevent any water coming into the van (I have the similar setup in my Lexon 530 for the shower/loo). For the window you are supposed to pull the blind down!.

As the van came with a 6 year damp warranty I had no concern about it

Ill be honest and say that I never used the shower as we 99% of the time stayed on sites that had showers and on the odd occasion we did a night stop without facilities I just used a bit more deodorant and brushed my teeth!

My only gripe was the washroom cabinet, the fronts are two glass mirrors that can break/crack if you forget to close properly, would have been a better design to have a sliding doors rather than hinges with plastic screws, we went though 3 mirror doors in 6 months!

All in all it was a great Van and OK if you dont mind setting up your bed every night, but we only kept it for 6 months as it was to see if we liked caravanning plus we have and old english sheepdog so did get a bit cramped in the mornings.

Hello again Simon. I bought it and took it home today. It seems fine.
The kitchen space was what swung it for us too. We sold a fixed bed van to get the Lunar but as it will be taking up residency in France later this year it may stay made up during the day too and the awning will be the living space. Must read up on the handbook and if I have any questions I will post them here. I see the 2013 model has a separate shower pod which would be better - one for the future maybe.

Glad you went ahead! the kitchen and the feeling of space did it for me too.

Personally I didnt like the new 2012 version which has a seperate shower & toilet at the expense of you losing quite a bit of kitchen/worktop & floor/living area. On the 2013 the internal differences are the new cabinetry, upgrades to the microwave & Fridge and that dark grey spashback behind the cooker & sink which looks a bit odd, but they have upgraded all front windows to be higher than 11/12 models and all side & back windows are now low profile. For the life of me I cannot work out why they still include the TINY waste bin on the door, two bean tins and a plastic milk bottle and its full!

It's quite a hefty price at about 16k for anew 2013 model considering I got my 2011 for 11750 brand new

one bit of advice, when I got the van, I changed all the 12V bulbs to LED's, Main roof/Loo & the 4 in the Large Heki rooflight, it helps reduce the power drain on your battery if your not on EHU. (The corner lights run off the mains so no point in changing)

Oh and keep an eye on those bathroom cabinet mirrored doors if towing!

See what you mean re 2012 / 13 models. Agreed re the bin. Neat but not practical. We mainly use EHU but will bear in mind and use led lights fitted if off sites. The mirror doors seem to have a very strong spring and there was no problem even over potholes and rough surfaces on our wonderful roads on the 70+ miles home but I have already got a lump of bluetac in front of the doors as a precaution.
