Have had a Lunar new since 2010 without any damp problems. If you readother forums the huge amount of Bailey Alu tech problems will make your hair stand on end. True they build lots of vans but it appears lots of them are built with numerous problems a great deal of which involve the dreaded damp!

We have a 2010 Lunar Quasar 546 that has recently had damp repairs under warranty. I noticed black marks on the wallboard in between the front windows. The workshop confirmed it was 25% damp and booked it in for a week to remove the windows, replace the damp wood and wallboard and refit the windows.

He said he'd had 6 caravans of various makes in around 5 weeks all with damp at the front windows. Swift have asked for samples (of what I dont know) to investigate but none of the other manufacturers have. They seem to think that there is a problem with the kind of sealant used and were looking to change it.

I love our Lunar despite its problems and we've had a few of those. The shower door fell off, the fridge wouldn't run on gas, the water inlet cracked and had to be replaced and the aerial sockets needed replacing with working ones. With the exception of the Eldis with the same layout there is nothing else out there that suits us. Maybe this caravan still has the magic of being our first but I still .love it. All that's changed is we've now said we will sell it and buy a brand new one before the damp warranty runs out.

Sorry for the waffle. I don't post very often but when I do it goes on a bit :-)
