I have just purchased an annex for my awning a towsure insignia awning. Is it necessary to have an inner tent in the annex in order for us to use it to sleep in.
If so has anyone used an inner from a tent rather than using a specifically made annex inner?
How long does it take to set up the annex on your awning?
Any inner will be fine, although you may have to adjust the length of the elastics to reach the awning poles. I have used a tent inner (tall one off a frame tent) and just used elastic Bungee rope to reach the poles. You can also buy a Universal Inner, which is what I currently use in my annexe (Dorema). I paid about £30 for it - it is a 3 man and takes a double height queen size airbed.
Hi we have a sloping annex and have used it a few times for sleeping in without an inner and came to no harm I think the worst you may get is a bit of condensation and the odd beasty flying around. It took about 10 mins to put ours up most of that sticking in pegs. We have a universal inner now which is way to big for the sloping version.

Thanks Barbie girl if it had been my son that would have worked but the awning annex is for hubby and I while mother in law sleeps in the van
Actually although its a 4 birth van we felt we wanted a bit of privacy and wanted my mother in law to be comfortable as she has never camped or caravanned before.
I think husbands plan is that she enjoys coming with us sometimes and he then has an excuse for a bigger van
We've slept in the awning annex for 4 seasons and never used an inner lining and haven't come to any harm. We've just changed awning to a Eurovent and that has a lovely cloth 'ceiling' that clips in to help reduce condensation. The annex doesn't have one so I've made one and also curtains to help reduce early morning sunlight and although we've just put it up today it looks very cosy and I'm looking forward to bed time.

same here but one thing to remember is leave the door open a bit. Run the zips over to the top of the door and open 6-8 inches .
Last time friends stayed over they were very hot and soaking wet from the sweat.
