The AC Charge doesnt appear to work on my caravan. I have checked the output at the Battery Charger and it is 12.2v, which is the same as at the control panel. But this doesnt charger the battery(not surprisingly).

The model is Nodeelecttronica MOD. NE143MH. Is this a duff charger and are they units a bit naff or am I just unlucky?

AC Voltage into the charger is only, RCD works fine.

Any other checks are is it off to get a new charger?

Dave

Is your 12volt system working? When my charger (same model) packed in I lost 12v system when running via zig unit. What make of van is it, mine needs the caravan battery button turning on to bring the battery into circuit else it won't be charging, although system will work via zig.

The manufacture name of your charger says enough, they have failed in large numbers and Swift no longer use them, but have changed to a British manufacturer SARGENT.

Caravan charger output should be a minimum of 13.8 volts.
To achieve a full charge you need an output of 14.4 volts but you will only achieve that by using a separate charger.

Nord have a particularly bad rep for this and in the case of the NE143, is due to an error in the design, solution is to get it fixed but at the same time modified to prevent it happening again.

Apuljack Engineering, or, Leisure Electronic Repairs,(both .co.uk), will carry this out for you at reasonable cost, as well as repairs and upgrades to other Nord models and indeed other makes?!
