------------- If You Open Your Mind Too Much Your Brain Will Fall Out
With Flintshire caravans we have had some excellent deals and after sales service over the years, when we considered changing van for a new 2013 we had a Bailey Unicorn Barcelona part-ex and decided on a Elddis Super Cyclone, Flintshire caravans used to be main dealers for Elddis some years ago but are dealers for Bailey and l think Lunar. Our option for a Elddis van is Clwyd Caravans they gave us a great deal including a fantastic part-ex for our Bailey. When we went to pick up our new Elddis van everything was shown to us inside and out, if we were unsure about anything we were shown again how it worked. Clwyd caravans bent over backwards for us and nothing was to much trouble.
Over the past 30 years of caravanning we have dealt with Flintshire Caravans (our 1st van was bought here Monza 1600D), Sunlite in Brombrough Wirral, Harringtons and Clwyd Caravans. All have been very good to us so l cant comment on the other dealers mention on this thread.
------------- You'll Never Walk Alone C'mon you Reds
We were sold a 2009 lunar from Flintshire two years ago. I explained that it was are first van. They told us that it had a full check for any major defects and a full service before we bought it. Paid £12000. After first trip the floor was squeaking. Took it back and was told it was the fire. On our second trip were there was a mobile engineer doing a service on a seasonal . Ask him about the squeaking ,we're he told me the floor had delaminated .
Took it back again only to be told it was to small a patch to be fixed. Went away for a third trip and the noise was becoming unbearable. Paid for a independent engineer to check the van for us. He did a report for us,but pointed out that someone had done some delamination repairs already. Again went back with van and report,we're the owners face hit the floor and arranged for the van to come straight in.
Called three weeks later telling me van was ready. On putting it on the back of my car,a chap helped me who informed me he was the guy who had done the previous two repairs to the floor. I said two repairs.he realised that I did not know he had been trying to sort out the delamination, and asked me not to drop him in to his boss. I told him I wouldn't . He then told me that the whole floor needed re doing as the battons had gone and it was like a patchwork quilt .
I then went inside and asked if it would be possible to swap the van for another one as although he said it was all repaired ( he did not know what the guy had told me) I was intending to keep the van for some years and when the warranty ran out , I would be in trouble if anything happened to the floor again. He offered me £9500 if I purchased a new £17000 van. I told him were to stick it.
Was at the NEC looking around the new Avante 540, and got talking to a chap from Glossops. I told him my story were he asked was I interested in the Avante. I told him I could not afford the £16000 price tag. This man bent over backwards for me,even went to Elddis to see if they could help me. I won't tell you the price I got it for,but I will say they gave me top price for my van,and a fantastic deal for the new one. We our now the proud owners of a new Avante, and from handover to now Glossops have been brilliant for ourselves.
I've only ever used the shop and found them to be very unfriendly! Which is a shame as its very well stocked,
As for the yard full of old green caravans!....well it doesn't inspire confidence!
I can't recommend Flintshire Caravans highly enough. They've always done right by u and we've never been disappointed.
As to Clwyd... never heard of 'em (and we live in 'Clwyd') as was.
