LOL…’shed dragger’ new one on me, just read this comment in a daily paper about how British border guards discovered – a man and woman in their 50s and a 12-year-old boy – hiding in a toilet and cupboard.
Eagle-eyed officials became suspicious after spotting four people in the car which was towing a caravan that could not hold all of them.
Better be on our guard when coming back from France
When I arrive at Dunkirk to return to UK either immigration or security invariably enter my caravan & check inside toilet compartment. Obvious place to hide I suppose.
I deliver new vans to various docks around the country and usually encounter some form of "security" check. The most amusing one happens at Heysham port en route to Ireland...Stop at the barrier-show photo i.d--put hi-vis jacket on...get out of cab for a pat-down search..security person has a good look around the cab including my bag and inside bait-box(packed lunch container)! Then I tell them that they cant search the caravans as they are locked, sealed and I dont have the keys(true). No problem...just sign here and carry on! Sometimes I wonder if the security person is taking the job seriously
Our van has been searched before now on our return to the UK. He wanted to look in the toilet, I had to move all our wine out of the way, to get the door open
