I have just bought one, I used it last week with a Lancashire red rose flag atop. Its personalisation of the pitch and I could find my caravan amongst all the others.
I think the problem with some folks, they are stuck in an age where everyone caravan was identical, pitched with an identical awning, which they sit in in silence muttering under their breath about the sound of laughter from people enjoying theirselves.
Camping and caravanning is not about dull and dreary, it is about fun and individuality.
If a site told me I could not erect a flagpole on my caravan, they would not get my patronage and a review would be published to say so. are there really sites which are so anally retentive?
I have a red Indian chief on a horse flag, getting a smiley one next,
as for sites that do ban em,I'm with Andy, obviously I'm only renting a bit of the site owners land for a few days, and it's their decision, but I'll use sites where the owners have a SOH, good idea to mention it in the review section
