Hi all, I'm hoping I can get some advise on an issue.
My water pump won't stop when the taps are turned off, it's not the actual pump because I have two a both do the same, I have no water leaks so the system is pressurised correctly so I'm thinking it maybe a short but really don't know where to start.
Any ideas guys?
It's a 1996 Avondale harrier.

Hi, sounds like you need to adjust the pressure switch. If you have done that it may be a perished diaphram or "O" ring. Have a look here for some pictures.

If your battery falls below 10.5volts the pump will run continuously, there are other posts and links to articles on this subject on the forum, do a search.

Thanks guys, I read about the pressure switch but I thought that was only if it was leaking which it is not, I'm guessing sane with diafram.
Not sure about battery, would that apply on a ehu?

If the battery is not holding a charge I would think it would apply to ehu.

A battery which will not hold a charge will also affect the running of a fridge on gas as with less than 10.5volts the fail safe system will shut down the gas supply, its time to change the battery me thinks.

Hi same thing was happening with ours. Also hot water would run for a bit then stop but pump kept going. Was the return valve that was goosed. Not an expensive fix if that's what it is.

sounds like a pressure problem, fill up as normal, screw pressure switch right to the bottom open a tap nearby, very slowly undo the screw until it JUST starts to click and water is flowing.STOP.close tap and check again.may need a couple of goes to get it right.

I located the problem, I disconnected the bathroom tap and that's fixed the problem, now all I have to do is Localise the problem within the tap
