The weights that are stamped on individual axles are maximum design weights, these are generally greater than the weight on the chassis plate.
It it the chassis plate weights that must be adhered to, this is what would be used by VOSA/Police when calculating overloads.
When you hear what the previous owner used to carry in it, you wonder how the chassis never collapsed.
On top of everything we had in it for weighing, they also carried a full awning, sun canopy, 4 family mountain bikes, 2 kayaks, enough clothes for 3 weeks without washing them and bag loads of food.
Quite impressed with the turnaround on my replate with Swift. Order placed with my dealer on Saturday 20th July, the new plate landed on my doorstep this morning, so less than 5 days to turn it around.
I appreciate that it may not have been necessary, but everything is the same now, vin plate & mtplm label.
Just have to stop swmbo from trying take full advantage now and make sure we weigh everything in and out.
