Hi All

I am looking at getting my first caravan soon, and am looking for some advise really. I have shortlisted the Bailey Pageant Provence Series 5 or the Bailey Ranger 500/5.

The Provence seems a little more expensive but also a little bigger. Has anyone got any opinions on the both.

Also, as this is my first caravan I was looking to go to a dealer so that I have a little more security, I could buy now or wait until around xmas time where maybe the prices will come down with dealers trying to clear their stock.

what are your thoughts ?

thanks in advance
Paul

we have the 500/5 and love it.would not change it for another layout.yes xmas time is the time to buy you could save 1000s. the MTPLM (max weight) of ours is 1272 kgs.your first van needs to be at 85% of your cars kerb weight to be safe on tow.

Thanks, the layout of both vans is very similar. I think the Provence is the one for me but I am wondering if it is worth paying a little extra for the Series 6 or just stick with the Series 5. For example

a 2006 van from a dealer is 6500
a 2007 van from a different dealer is 7750.

From what I have investigated, both are ok deals but I am not sure I can justify the additional money.

Has anyone got any thoughts on the 2 vans.

thanks
