It is a group of caravans on a field. The organization hold an exception certificate which means the field does not need to be licenced as a site. A meet is normally held on a site as the organization does not have an exception certificate, as is the case with ukcs. A c&cc da however almost certainly would have an excenption certificate, though they often refer to meets
It's where a lot of people go, usually very cheaply, to holiday in a field.
The C&CC do them, called THS's (Temporary Holiday Sites). They are great fun.. often no EHU, loos or showers, but a mininum of water tap and Chemical waste disposal.
Some clubs organise these on a rally field belonging to a camp site proper, where you can have EHu and use facilities on the site.
A get together of like minded people who all love camping, in whatever unit you have!
Cheap camping too - its the only way we can afford to get out as often as we do. Our last weekend away was at a local country park (10 minutes up the road from us) Its really nice to be able to make use of the park when day visitors has gone - kids were crabbing until 9pm then off to the playpark for half an hour and then back to crabbing first thing next morning. Its also nice to get to know other family's who we keep in touch with via the internet and try to meet up with now and then. Keeps the kids happy and we can relax. There are rules eg quiet between 10/11 pm and 7/8am (not sure which but there's rarely any noise at night), pick up your litter, drive at 5mph onsite. Nothing difficult but just ensures that everybody enjoys themselves.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
