Should my TV work in my caravan on both mains and 12v ?

That depends on your TV set and where you have got it plugged in.

If it's plugged into the 3 pin mains socket then it will only work on 240V. If it's plugged into the 2 pin 12V socket then it will work on 12V. (If your set works on 12V)

Many modern TV's use an adapter to convert 240V into 12V.
We use our set plugged into the 12V caravan supply and use it in the house when we get back plugged into the 240V.

If you look at the rear of your TV where the plugs attach there may be a socket with 12V on it. If it hasn't then the TV set will only operate by means of a 240 volt mains supply.
