hi im thinking of changing from a tent to a van I passed my driving test after 97 so im limited to weight which I know little about but I have no Idea what to look for in a van there is 2 adults and 2 kids but wouldn't mind a 5 berth as gives flexibility with kids friends but as to what type I have no clue do I buy private or go dealer how much should I spend on my first van and I would want a awning for added space do I go for a lightweight one or the steel pole type

Best advice I was given by an experienced caravanner was to get a 4 berth even though there are only two of us and the dogs, his advice was very helpful.

4 berths seem to resell easier and have a better resale value the also have more space so I guess if you are used to a tent some of which can be huge, moving to a caravan could be space restrictive a 4 berth will be less so than a 2 berth.
