Hi is there such a thing as a caravan hypermarket where you can see for sale caravans on a vast price scale on a par with with carcraft and the like . If so where ?
Might be a silly question but how easy is it to walk around these places? I guess what I'm asking is can you just walk in and out of all the vans they have or are you usually accompanied? We're at the very beginnings of our search and don't particularly want a sales person following us around!
it depends on the sales place.some are locked as theft of knobs and lights ect is common.at blackburn they are open to view as you will.or should i say they were.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
British car auctions at Measham..just off the a42 between birmingham and east midlands airport have a caravan auction every 2nd wednesday .Caravans and motorhomes only and usually 200 lots. There is a website with details if interested. Thats BCA Measham.
Never been to Glossop Caravans (but I have read the various comments on this forum)
On entering Highbridge Caravans at, guess where, Highbridge, in Somerset, there's a sign that says, words to the effect, probably the biggest caravan dealer in the South West.
I've just been on their website. At this moment in time they've got, 83 new 'vans, 189 used 'vans with 77 'vans due in. All in all 354.
In addition to this they've got 47 new motorhomes, 62 used motorhomes with a further 21 due in.
On top of this they've a dozen tow cars for sale, a further dozen folding campers (both new and used) and a further 9 trailer tents.
If they're not the biggest dealer in the country I'd like to know who is.
I write this with no tie to the Company (other than the fact that they negotiated a repair on my one month out of warranty 'van with Lunar.) Something that I'm happy to shout about
------------- How come when some people visit the fountain of knowledge, they only gargle!!!

I live near these and looked there ! Very over priced
------------- Loads of CC sites to many to mention.
Thanks for all the replies. Paid a visit to Glossop caravans yesterday (Friday) and was really impressed by the quality and volume of units site however the prices of the lower end of the range was quite high for what you get. For £1,000 you can pick up a unit that would go for about £400 in a private sale but still it was well worth a look if only to see whats out there
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
