After years of tenting and spending I bought the new van 3 months ago :) , bought everything for it new , used some stuff from tent days. Yet the spending never ends lol!. now looking for new folding chairs, and more wasp spray owwwwwww just been stung damn!!!!!
------------- Loads of CC sites to many to mention.
Its as exciting as shopping for a new baby! There is so much to buy but yes, we have managed to use alot of stuff from when we had the tent & TT's, there's a lovely couple in our village who have everything to do with caravanning, ive bought quite a few bits from them and will, no doubt, be buying more..... i need to win the lottery though so i can go to a big shop (Go Outdoors, BCH, Attwoolls) i would be in my element! x
------------- Enjoyed tenting,
Enjoyed trailer-tenting,
Now loving caravanning 😊😊
We bought an awning for our VW T5 last August, bought EVERY extra you could imagine to make it all civilised-like. Spent a grand on the lot. I told my OH that I wasn't a camper as I like the luxuries. Went to a lovely site in Bradford on Avon and pitched up next to a couple in a brand new enormous motor home one side and Jean and Dave (we soon made friends) in their lovely Bailey Senator Arizona which they had from new, on the other side.
The couple in the MH took an hour and a half to wash up, stow all away and get going after brekkie the next morning and Jean and Dave were off just after leaving their cups to drain, waving to us as we moved things from the awning to VW for security.
We went out for dinner with Jean and Dave and after went back and sat in so much comfort with a drink and the olympics on their TV. We then went back to our awning and sat with an electric lightbulb swinging between us and then thought nowt else to do we best go to bed.
Last morning, you guessed it, Jean and Dave won the race, off with a jolly goodbye after a mere 30 mins to stow things away, followed a while later by the motorhome (which incidentally wouldn't fit under many car park barriers they told us, don't fancy that myself) We followed much later and were very hot and bothered as we had to wipe the condensation from our £700 pop up awning and had to be off site by 11.00am.
We had a great weekend but decided camping under canvas not for us, sold the awning the next week on preloved.
The end of my story is we are VERY eagerly waiting for next weekend when we pick up our lovely 2 berth Bailey and join a nation of happy tuggers! Taken a day off work this week to go shopping for necessities ;)
