Hiya all again...
When i open my large front window on the caravan, it appears to drop ever so slightly on one side which means that i cant actually close it again from the inside, i have to go out and nudge it back up and then shut it then go back in and do the handles... also, its misty every morning and sometimes has a small amount of water laying along the bottom between the panes of plastic.....what do i need to do to fix this please? x
------------- Enjoyed tenting,
Enjoyed trailer-tenting,
Now loving caravanning 😊😊
Might be the rail on which it hangs is loose and needs to be tightened. The window sounds as if it has delaminated and the heat from the van is causing condensation.
To fix right i would take the rail off and reseal as well as putting in a new screw if loose.
My windows some times are misty in the morning but clear when the sun comes up
on are van the inner plastic layer had been removed from front and back window but the two side ones have been drilled and a gromet fitting. looks like its to let air serculate.
------------- She may be old, she may be rough around the edges but she is our home from home and we love it.
Condensation is very normal, just open the window slightly in the morning untill it all disappears.
We have this moisture in the air all the time but in the day you open and close the door, have window open etc so that the air flows and draws the moisture out of the van, what you have in the morning is just a build up through the night.
I would as Jeff says check the rail is tight fixed against the van as I had the same problem on my previous van and water entered into the van but I caught in in time and as Jeff said do not be afraid to use plenty of mastic and then refix the rail.
