I am not sure what I did, so would appreciate it if anyone can recommend how to fix this. For the first week of our holidays our hot water worked perfectly. We then moved campsite and I couldn't get the blooming thing to work again. Someone mentioned that I may have to re-set the hot water system but am absolutely clueless whether this is the answer and if so how to do it. Many thanks, Sarah

Suspect you may not have turned off the power to the water heater when it was empty of water (yes I've done it too!!).

Turn off the water heater, and leave it for a few hours, then turn the power back on... it worked for us!

what he says....we have done it...actually my wife has done this many times!

its an overheat protection....although we only usually need to leave it for 10 minutes to reset.

i think on the last van there was also a reset switch....it will depend on what model truma you have.

On some heaters there is a reset button, But i thought others needed a new fuse soldering in?

I tripped mine once, Luckily ts a reset button. But i now get into the habit of connecting the battery and water up before plugging into the mains or gas.

Make sure you get water from both hot and cold taps in the kitchen and bathroom before putting the mains on.

Possible that you burned out the element - we have done this, hubby got a new one from fleabay and fitted it himself. No problems after and never turned on the water heated before water was connected again...
