hi ive been away now 3 times and my caravan mover will only move my caravan a few feet then stops! I have to turn it off and on again then it moves a few feet again then stops! ive checked the battery its fine! Its the type that turns the caravan wheels only had it fitted about 18 months ago.Anyone any ideas? thanks
I had this problem a few months ago with my Reich mover, got to the point where we were changing the batteries in the remote every time we used it, but were buying fairly cheap ones from the pound shop. We then got a bit fed up with it and booked it in for a mover service at our local dealer who originally fitted it to our caravan, it did improve, and they also changed the remote batteries to some Agfa heavy duty ones.
Fast forward 6 weeks and we trade the caravan in and the mover gets swapped over onto the new van, this time its on the opposite side of the wheel arch, the battery has been checked and its still fine, but a comment made by the engineer who did the swap got us thinking, maybe we had been a bit heavy handed in how tight we wound the rollers onto the tyres, and we had been in effect using the roller as a break?
So we now only give it a couple of turns as soon as contact is made, dont use cheap batteries in the hand set, these should last about a year, approx20 uses, make sure that the caravan battery is fully charged before using. Result is like we have a different mover fitted, fingers crossed that it stays that way, oh, and caravan tyre pressures can make a difference to mover performance too, especially if they are rather flat and not at recomended presure.

I actually have a lead for my remote control which plugs into the mover through the window (ive never tried it)But a few good points there thanks a lot for taking the time to reply.i will give all those tips a go thanks again.
I have a Reich mover on my 2-berth and it has been giving problems.
Very intermittent in operation - changed remote batteries, still intermittent.
Looked at electrical gubbins in caravan and realised the aerial (antenna) had snapped off at the circuit board.
Removed board, purchased a soldering iron (with a supply of solder and a rest - £9.99 at B&Q).
Reached the limit of my expertise and got my son to release the old stub of aerial from board and solder the old aerial back on.
Result - mover all back to normal!
BTW aerial is only a 7" piece of black wire that might at first seem to be just a bit of scrap wire!
I had a problem with my all four wheel Powrtouch. It was on the caravan when I bought it and I got basic instructions. It worked fine to start with then I had problems. First problem was I used it for too long and I think it overheated. Later it worked ok. I had problems similar to Bridgie. I then had to turn the (electric box) key off and on again. Checked batteries etc.
I have to hold two buttons on my remote and release them when it comes to one green light. I was holding the buttons down too long and it was turning the control box off. In the instructions, to turn the control box off, you hold down the same buttons you use to start up the handset. So I was not releasing the buttons quickly enough and I was continually turning the control box off.
I then read the instructions properly.
