I bought one of these and changed my propane light for an ordinary one.   The chap at the caravan gas place said all I was really paying £7 extra for was to save a few pounds in weight and have a gauge, over the ordinary one. He did warn me that if I changed my mind and wanted another lite that I wouldn't be able to get one, but I think he was right in saying they are expensive for what they are. So I exchanged the Lite for an ordinary one.

The Lite gauge was showing empty for three more weeks camping before it actually ran out of gas.

The gauge works well (well, as gauges go it seems ok, at least as good as the Lite version, but I haven't had it fitted for long enough to tell), and can also be used to detect gas leaks and the whole process of changing the cylinder is so much easier as you can connect the gas to the bottle just using the nut to tighten, so no more wresting with spanners!

It was another member on here that put me onto these, I can't remember his name, but I'm glad that I took his advice!

We took 2 Calor lites to France in June, had 3 weeks there using barby and hob, after we did several week ends again using barby and hob.  I too thought my gauge was stuck, as it had not moved at all in this time. However last week end I noticed it had just started to move from full position, so obviously not stuck. Impressed with how this bottle has lasted.

I've got two Lite bottles. Both full. One shows green, one shows red. I've tried the tipping up and shaking trick. Hasn't worked. I weighed both and they were the same.

I think a gauge is a great idea and the one on the Lite would be if it were accurate but it tends to tell ponkies so I have gone for a supplimentary in-line one similar to Jax as it works much better.

Mine registered full for a very long time, then suddenly switched to empty! Talk about a false sense of security! But there was still enough gas for another three weeks of camping. They are not that reliable on the Lites, so don't rely on them to tell the truth.
