Now before everyone shouts I'm not having a pop at Caravans. But please can someone explain why manufacturers give them such inappropriate names. Would anyone really want to name a Caravan Hurricane or Tornado etc. The last thing you would want to associate them with is extreme weather conditions. We've all seen pictures and videos of what extreme weather conditions do to caravans. The same also appears to apply to other camping equipment it just more visible on Caravans.

The Bailey Cabrera always makes me chuckle. "What sort of a caravan have you got?" "I've got a Bailey lady goatherd". Who thinks them up, and doesn't anyone do any checking?!

Coachman originally made single axle models named the Mirage, the Genius and the VIP. They renamed the Mirage to the Amara and the Genius to the Pastiche around 1999 but kept the VIP name. Coachman have now renamed the Amara to the Vision which I think is on display at the NEC this year but does anyone know what 'Pastiche' means as nobody seems to have a clue apart from one person who seems to think it's Italian for very poor quality or junk.  ...Surely not!

Depends where you are. Rude in Spain, but in Latin America it's the word for a plumber. Maybe it was the LatAm version Mitsubishi had in mind.

Thanks very much for the link. It's not defined as what the person thought it was then.
