Our 2012 swift challenger 636 has just been in for its annual service. I mentioned that there was condensation in the reverse light unit, and was under the impression they would claim of the warranty and replace this.
We collected the van today and unfortunately I didn't notice that the condensation as still there until we got it back to storage.
Firstly, would this be something that would be covered under the warranty and secondly would this condensation here be a problem in any way?
It's a nuisance if we are now going to have to take it back in for something that should have been done whilst with them.
Would just welcome your expertise and advice as to what you would do.
Its normally caused by a leaky seal or a crack in the lense, maybe just take it off, dry it out with a hair dryer and refit making sure of a good seal.
I would think it was covered under warranty if the lens or lamp body was cracked, say by overtightening at the factory. However, like you mention, what is more annoying is the fact that even though you specifically mentioned it they don't appear to have done anything about it, unfortunately poor warranty work & PDI seems a common thread on here at the moment.
To be honest I would save all the bother and do it yourself as lunarvenus suggests and double check everything before you leave the workshop in the future.

Smear some Vaseline on the seals before reinstalling; wont react with anything, water resistant, and wont set in place making removal awkward to change bulb next time.
I would be very surprised if your caravan dealer (Dick Turpin without a mask...) would bother with something like this, unless the lens is indeed cracked. They are factory built at a million miles an hour these days; finishing touches dont apply anymore, its get it out & sold/ delivered it would appear.

I is a known problem and there is a modification.Go back to your dealer or as i have done put new seals in, as the ones fitted by lamp manufacturer have gaps where the water gets in.
I believe you will find they put grommets in to drain water but i did not want this as my way was simpler and does not alter any looks.
