Sadly we have come to the conclusion that we will be packing up caravanning due to my wife's health.
I had to call for an ambulance on our last trip away, the third time this has happened, she spent a week in the hospital but thankfully has now been transferred to our local hospital.
We will sorely miss caravanning, in particular the many trips to France.
The caravan will be put up for sale, as complete and ready to go, shortly once my wife comes out of hospital.
Really sorry to hear that Paul and wish your wife all the best
Have you considered a Motorhome and using it for day camping, then atleast you are getting away .
We have spoken to lots of people with life long illness who find that a Motorhome gives them the freedom they need to go out for the dayx
Thanks for the replies. My wife is recovering in hospital from pneumonia and which she has had 5 times in as many years.
She has only a third normal lung capacity after the first bout, which ate away her right lung. She needs constant oxygen which is provided by a concentrator which runs off mains, although she has portable cylinders, they only last for about three hours.
We looked at getting a motorhome when we last changed the van, but came to the conclusion that it wouldn't work for us.
Very sorry to hear about you wife. Hope she is home soon. So very sorry you have to give up your 'van but holiday cottages could be an option for you. Wishing you all the best
