Just to let it be known Caravan Guard insurence can be highly recommended. We had the misfortune to make a claim after storm damage in France earlier this year. The claim was settled with no fuss whatsoever. The claim was for close on £7000, and when I renewed for next year my premium had only gone up by about £30. I have no connection with this company other than being a satisfied customer. They are helpfull and friendly when dealing with over the phone.

That is nice to know as I am insured with them. Not the cheapest but were highly recommended. Can think of nothing worse than having to argue or haggle with an insurance company when you are in distress.
I agree with all the above. We are insured with Caravan Guard and when we had an attempted theft they paid out for the damage with no fuss and very quickly. I have not lost my no claims either.
For some obscure reason even if you normally live in a building that consists of 4 brick walls and a roof, while having a Continental Touring Caravan, either on the drive or in a secure compound when not being used, they will not insure you!
They slipped up once and offered me a policy for £200 which went up by 50% the next year even though we had not made a claim, just so I would take my policy elsewhere, I did and have not regretted it!

Never claimed but always found the premium to be very reasonable and competitive.
I found the exactly same as well but what I also liked too was the non push button telephone technology and managed to get through to a real person straight away when I initially took out the policy. I have recently renewed again with Caravan Guard for a second term as there was no price increase.
I had a claim with Caravan Guard a while back and they were efficient but their independent assessor took over two weeks to process the paperwork/report and he did not even bother to come out and look at the damage relying solely on the photos I emailed to him. Premium did go up a fair bit on renewal as well.

I have had the same satisfaction with E&L ins we had a hail storm and some small dents to the roof, settled at £2400!! That has funded our new van and we didn't loose a penny of the van, they did try to increase this years premium but I negotiated it down again, highly recommended

you were lucky our claim was anything but straight forward and spoiled our holidays that year.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Was with Caravan Guard, but had to drop them. They wouldn't allow me to bring my caravan out of secure storage and leave it at my parents house for a couple of days to pack it. Would have been covered at my house, but not my parents. (We have no room at our house to leave it, whereas my parents have a massive gravelled front garden, ideal for leaving the van short term). But they couldn't insure me for leaving the van there. Sad really. Moved to the caravan club insurance, for a similar premium.
Just be careful with Caravan Guard if like me, you mostly store your van in secure storage, and bring it home to pack before a trip. You may find it not covered, (I believe they allow two or three days for you to pack before a trip).
It's covered on a site, just not when sat outside an address that wasn't my own? I did ask if I could change my home address to that of my parents, but it was a no go-er.
I must add I wanted to stay with them, but they just couldn't cover me, for my particular situation. Good priced insurance, great customer service etc. Never had to make a claim, but had good service from them when renewing and actually speaking to them.
