Hi, just moved my caravan to a new site, the pitches are actually for static caravans but are being used for tourers for next season, it has its own sewerage waste point, the owner has said we can empty waste direct into these as long as we do not use any chemicals as it goes into a sceptic tank. My question is this, is there any way or fitting which would allow me to connect my toilet direct to this system, he has no problem with us doing this.
Many caravan parks now use Septic Tanks and this being the case, you cannot use the Blue Toilet Chemical, but you must use the green stuff like Fenwicks Top & Tail.
However I would clear this with the site owner first.
If he allows this, then you can deposit your loo waste down the existing sewage pipe.
Artyboy, there used to be a system that fitted to the toilet seal where the cassette engages and that had a flexi pipe that plugged in to the black pipe of the site using a push fit. I have not seen anything like it for about 20 years in the UK but if you check on some of the USA RV sites you will see similar systems and as Thetford is a US company you might well find something to do the job (pun intended!) with.

You would need a water trap if you did somehow cobble your loo to the pipe. Otherwise you would get smells, and possibly even rats emerging from your toilet. The best way would be to remove your loo totally and fit a cheap standard pan and cistern if its going to be there for a good while. If the van isnt worth a fortune, that would be my own way of solving the problem.
Something like the above but with a Thetford connector (in place of cassette). No need for U bend if you can bodge or obtain a Thetford blade valve for the toilet connection unit. Do some digging on US RV sites and I am sure you will come up with something suitable.

I too have seen the adaptor that's refered to elsewhere on this post, but I gotta agree with others too that the conversion idea is just too much bother to go to, to avoid a few minutes job a few times a week.
Just empty the cassette as usual.
Use the organic toilet chemicals that you can now buy from the caravan shops that do both the flush and the waste tanks, the site owner should not have anything to say over that, except that you emptying your waste into the septic tank would be an advantage to the site.
You need a U bend to stop smell coming back up into the caravan. Not worth the effort just to save a few minutes. Besides if you decide to trade in the caravan and it has conversions, it may be difficult to sell as it is no longer standard.
I can't think of anyway you can connect a cassette toilet direct to a sewage drain this would take a lot of modification to the van. The best way would be to use a toilet chemical that is safe in septic tanks ( OLPRO Bottom and Top )
