We usually insure our caravan with the 5c's offered by the Caravan Club, but we are about to stop touring and begin using our caravan on a seasonal pitch only.
Does anyone know if this change increases our risk or decreases it?
On the face of it, if you are off the road, so to speak, then then there is a huge change in the level of risk (in my opinion)
Just wondering what sort of insurance anyone might suggest for a seasonal pitch.
Thanks in advance for any advise..
Gordon
My seasonal is insured with Caravanguard. They do ask for details of the site - are there fences and security gates etc. I'm not sure about the difference in premiums - I think they went up but not by much.
we went seasonal this year insured through the C C Club told them where it was going to be and as it was a caravan site they classed it as Storage as well as being used at no extra charge
Mine is through Lifesure and includes a no towing clause, I.e designed for seasonal. Was cheaper and it's a local company with people not a call centre. Haven't had to claim so can't comment on that side but impressed
Ours is with C&CC too and made no difference to our insurance. I think it is classed as being in storage as they ask about security. I suppose as long as the site you are on Is secure, you must be less of a risk.
