When your caravan is closed for the winter do you have your curtains opened or closed, I have always closed our's, our daughter has been told to leave them open.
All open, blinds up, upholstery removed and kept indoors. Cupboards all left open as well, for ventilation and so anyone can see that there's nothing inside worth having.
Mr Wilson re the cupboards left open, is this the overheads ? I have been informed by more than one person that if the overheads are left open for an extended period there is a chance of them warping.
We leave blinds shut on side windows at front only all others open so if anyone breaks into the garage they can see that there is nothing inside of value...all lockers open.. Battery and gas bottle also removed.

you are correct i have seen this on two vans at the dealers.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Hadn't heard that one but its possible I suppose. Doesn't seem to matter what you do there's a down side to it so just have to go with what you feel is best.
We take the cushions away from the windows and leave the blinds and curtains open. The weather in Scotland differs from England we get a lot of damp days during the winter.
Two years ago with the curtains closed we had aa lot of condensation in the van, this year none as the curtains were left open to let the little sun we had heat the van through the windows.
Just bought a second hand Swift Challenger (its been 17 years since we last had a caravan) and am somewhat confused by the winter advice. I have looked on the Swift website and they quote the following regarding winterisation:
"Open all lockers and internal doors, to ensure good circulation.
Close all blinds and curtains. Customers are reminded to check the tension on blinds after storage if left closed for long periods.
Placing water absorbent crystals in the van during the winter months, will help reduce moisture levels and mould growth."
Who knows whats best
