I've been looking at having a summer holiday in Devon next year on a THS with C&CC in Devon. The price quoted is £13.50 per night. Looking at the CC I notice they have a holiday rally at the same place for £8.00 per night. I wonder why the price is so different? Looks like it might be worth my while rejoining the Caravan Club!!

Check it out carefully - rallies often come with no electric - just on a field.

There aren't many holiday rallies these days with the CC where there is not a hook up included. Weekend rallies are usually without electricity. Check with the CC centre its easy to find out. Often campsites allow groups good discounts to fill the sites.

The one I'm looking at is a field rally but as that's mostly the only way we camp now we're all set up for it It was the difference in price between the two clubs which struck me.

That is fairly normal.

Why should a caravan park charge a rally a minimum price and then give them full use of all the facilities?

Any rally/holiday site we have been on has only had a tap and a CDP.

we also have experienced that , however I went and paid the site owner a small cash payment so we could use the site facilities .
