Spongy floor spray? Whats that?

I thought the glue they use on the floor is like an expanding foam/adhesive in one.

Ideally spongy/soft wood needs to be replaced.

hope this helps CARAVAN FLOOR REPAIR DELAMINATION KIT.

BRAND NEW

REPAIR KIT CONTAINS 1 PART FLOOR ADHESIVE

COVERS APPROX 1 SQ MTRS

If parts of your caravan floor feels spongy or bouncy this can mean delamination.

Delamination often happens near the door or in the kitchen area.

The floor of a caravan is made from polysyrene sandwiched between plywood.

With heavy use the polystyrene can become squashed which creates the spongy feel

The delamination kit will harden the floor and restore the new feel stopping the bounce.

De-lamination kit will do nothing for framework which is soft due to water leakage.

If its spongy around your rooflight frame it will be because the wooden frame is rotten due to water ingress so you need to replace the wooden frame, so the answer to your question is no.

As for a repair it depends how bad it is. If the wood is wet but intact then the easy way is just seal the rooflight frame so no water is coming in from outside & hope it eventually dries out, ie a bodge but the easy option. Otherwise you will need to replace wooden frame.

Whoever is selling that kit is wrong.

The spongy feeling is because the wood has separated from the foam. The glue between the plywood and foam breaks down and the wood then expands. Giving you a bulge. Thats the spongy feeling.

The glue expands and fills the bulge giving a firm feeling again.

No good at all for the application that you need.

you might get away with using something like Ronseal wood hardener which is used for repairs to window frames e   http://www.screwfix.com/p/ronseal-wet-rot-wood-hardener-500ml/63540
