After 24 years we have decided to pack in touring after a stressful Christmas with our pooley dog and the long road to recovery he has to come we don't know when we will be using the van again, and it's a lot of money to have sitting on the drive doing nothing so we have decided to sell up ,I know it's the wrong time of year to sell but where's the best place to advertise a 20k van.and towcar, haven't sold a van privately for over 10years so I'm a bit rusty
Happy new year to all

------------- If You Open Your Mind Too Much Your Brain Will Fall Out
I sold ours for about £8000 on Preloved. Better than ebay as it's only £5 to join and you are in touch with the buyer who comes and views and agrees a price there and then. I think it got good coverage and sold within a couple of days.
I know I am probably on my own but I wouldn't give up caravanning because of a pet dog. Mind you we have never had any interest in owning a dog!!
Try some of the dealers ads in the caravan magazines. At least they will give you a guide as to the vans worth. Also the CC magazine is a good place.
Would agree with those that have mentioned Ebay and Pre-loved. Am also having some joy with Gumtree. Ads are free. It's worth watching vans similar to yours on Ebay in order to get a good idea of what they are actually selling for. You don't want to sell yourself short, equally you don't want to price yourself out of the market.
Good luck.

It is possible to still caravan with a disabled pet, and they often enjoy the change of suroundings as much as their owners do. Over the years we have taken several rescued dogs away with us, including a little Lakeland JRT cross called Lucy, who had similar problems as your dog after becoming stuck down a rabbit hole for several hours before she was found, and had injured her back in the struggle to become free.
She could stand alone and take a few wobbly steps, but any kind of long walkies was out of the question for her. We had to lift her in and out of the car and caravan, and she was happy to snuggle down onto an old folded duvet under the rear dinette every day, or simply bask in the sunshine on a warm summers day, she loved all the fuss and attention she got from passers by and others who would often ask how she got her scars on her back that still showed through her short coat for the rest of her life, until she finally passed away when she was 9yrs old and developed liver problems.
If you still decide that you must sell up, Gumtree are good, we used them to source our last caravan, the Lunar, we have also sold a van in the past via the Cc mags small adds.

Celebrating 37 years of Caravanning in 2019, Recently Considered Retiring, but Totally Addicted for Life!
We bought our first excellent 1 yr old caravan on EBay and spent nearly £12k. It's a tricky business completing the transaction - him trusting us to pay him and us trusting that the caravan was as he said (we did get a caravan engineer in to check it over). But overall the buying experience was good and preferable to a dealer as we got kit and an awning thrown in to the deal.
preeloved is great you will get your price if you are willing to come down a bit so up the price and put ono on add.
Sorry to hear you are fin but disabled dogs can still enjoy the fun of pastures new,
We bought our caravan from eBay and did an online back transfer at the sellers house, it's great as you don't have to carry a huge wad of cash and everyone gets their money safely.
