Hi all,happy New year.
We will be picking our new caravan up in a week's time and I was wondering when the manufacturer states the unladen weight on a van, does this includes the gas bottles, water containers or leisure battery?
I know that on a car it does include all the fluids, plus some fuel and the drivers weight.

Cheers Bob, the link certainly helped, I can now calculate what I can put in my van so as not to go over the mtplm without duplicating weights on items already included.

It might sound a bit "OTT", but on the occasions I've changed the van I've gone to the bother of having laden weight checked on a weigh bridge. It's surprising how you can easily exceed your weights (various posts on here have been testimony to that over the years).

You need to be careful with this, the items included in the unladen weight will depend on when your van was manufactured.

Wow, thanks for all the advice. I've taken to putting all the items we are going to put in the van on the bathroom scales go get an idea of weight, that's why I wondered what was included in the unladen load, so I'm not weighing them twice.
