Following on from my other post in the camping forum about finding a place to stay with my teenage boys, I have a question here please. My friends and I do a dog sport called flyball and we travel around the north west in the summer at various competitions. Lots of people camp or take big caravans. However because there is literally just a field and limited space, there are no showers/hook ups and only a couple of toilets and some water (and waste disposal for the caravans). However Ive never camped because of the lack of shower facilities lol after a hot summers day running about with dogs I do not want to not be able to wash my hair and at least have a quick shower to freshen up. This is a cause of great hilarity between my team mates. This year I have £2000 to buy a new tent :D however one of my team mates has set me a challenge to find the smallest caravan I could learn to tow with my car instead (a new Citroen Berlingo multispace) that has a shower so I could potentially stay with them. Ive only towed once a horsebox many many years ago, although have caravanned all over this country and France about ten years ago. I didnt tow then, ex hubby did. I dont have a tow bar but that is sortable. I am a nervous driver so maximum an hour away for driving, but Im sure I can get towing lessons somewhere surely? Is there anything really tiny that has a shower? I know it would have to work on a generator and 12v of EHU. I used to be in charge of the set up of our Swift Challenger 500se

Max laden weight:2000kg
Max towing weight braked/unbraked 1200/715
Max tow hitch download 70

If you mean a caravan under £2000 it would be something fairly old off ebay etc. Theres plenty about with a shower that could be easily towed with your car but mainly at least 18ft overall length. If you want to buy new then all the UK manufacturers make ones that size with showers. Something like this might do you. You would probably need to budget for a service & new tyres as well if you buy an older caravan.

hi, I have the Elddis Wisp 350/2. It is a small light weight caravan, easy to tow and well in your price range. The post 1991 ones usually have showers. If it's only for 2 people and the dogs it's ideal. Although I have had 4 people sleeping in mine but I've only a small dog. We go to a lot of Horse trials so are camping in fields a lot and it's fine, much more comfy than a tent. My friend does Flyball with her dogs, she was at Crufts a couple of years ago.

Plenty out there that can be towed with your car and below £2k.

My old Abbey 415 weighed in at 1060KG and was a 4 berth with a decent useable shower. The shower worked off gas and pumped by the onboard battery so you'd have no issues when off hookup. I never used the shower in it as I'd walk to the shower block on site but my wife and kids used it regularly when it was wet and windy outside.

Alternatively, buy a portable shower, several types available from the solar powered black bag type, to those you fill from the kettle and top up to tempreture with cold water then spray like a garden pressure pump, and even some that that work of a solar panel to heat the water then spray by a small pressure pump.

Most tent campers house these devices in a separate toilet tent and collect the spent water into a small childs paddling pool, although for the small amount of water capacity some types have, it would probably be ok to just do it as nature intended, using a bush or a wind break for modesty!

If you want the smallest this is probably it. Not sure if you will get one for £2000 with a shower but you will certainly get one without. Your Berlingo will make light work of it, I towed mine with a mini metro.

Keep a look out, they last for ever.

I bought my Sterling Eccles Jade 2 years ago for £2k and have towed it with a Citroen C4 with no problem. It's got a good size shower and well laid out. Heater, cooker and all necessary stuff included.
Keep an eye out on Gumtree or Preloved

You really should wash your hair after that exercise.
It gives a bad impression to readers.
