If your going near Inverness, I really must say the C & CC site at Rosemarkie is so well placed, its on the Black Isle just over the Kessock Bridge from Inverness. Its great for Dolphin spotting, local pubs, restaurant, good butchers, bakers, Co op, loads to see in that area for a week or so.
I second the praise for the site at Moffat we go for weekends as its quite local for us, great pubs (the Star - narrowest pub in Scotland), breakfast at Moffat Mill BOGOF, great local shops aswell.
