We bought a 2009 Elddis from SYMC (in Dinnigton, near Sheffield) in the middle of last year and it came with a 12 month warranty. We've had it back to them once for damp next to a front window which they fixed. Whilst away this weekend we found more damp in the front where the wall meets the front window area so called them to book it in to have it fixed.
At which point I found out that they'd gone bust just over a week ago and had been taken over by Marquis. So bang goes the warranty.
I was hoping that the van would still be under the 5 year Elddis warranty but since nobody told us we'd have to transfer it from the previous owner that looks like it's too late too.
For legal information regarding a company going into liquidation I would call the trading standards and explain fully what your concerns are as all may not be lost like you think. I dealt with them regarding a warranty on a pair of boots that carried a 3 year warranty and they were most helpful to which the advice given finally resolved my problem last year. It's worth a call at least to find out where you stand. You can call for consumer rights, product or service issues on 08454 04 05 06.
