Hi we ordered a Sunncamp Crown plus 390 yesterday at the NEC and wanted to order some rock pegs.
Anyone know approx how many I'll need for a 390 awning - will 20 be enough?
Any recommendations for rock pegs too? Was thinking of getting the Blue Diamond ones as good reviews on Go Outdoors.

Hi Frannyvan,

I can't answer your question as I too have rock pegs for our 390 awning on my shopping list. I have read about delta rocks so will look into getting some of those for the guys. We've used the regular yellow deltas and they don't budge - a great invention. If you are interested in those if possible buy direct off their website as the inventor recently died but all the profit then goes to his widow rather than a camping outlet.

I've just had a look at some other threads and not sure Delta's can replace rock pegs.

Our 390 Kampa rally takes about 21 pegs for the main base not including the interior mudwalling pegs, or those along the interior draught skirt rail, then we use larger ones for pegging out the storm straps and guylines.

In total, we take about 30 pegs, plus the interior mudwalling ones, but OH is a bit of a stickler for pegging every point he can, and its always good practice to take a few spares anyway.

Go for the best quality you can, our first experiance of rock pegs were some we bought from a CC site shop in desperation of storms forcast up in the Lake district. They were the type that looks like 8inch nails with a flange on the top to take the guyropes, biggest load of expensive rubbish we have ever owned, one good clout with a lump hammer and they virtually bent in half!

So another vote here for delta pegs too, plus we carry a selection of sturdy large plastic pegs which are good for clay soil and pebbles.

There are different types of delta ground anchors.

The delta rocks are near the bottom of the page and are used in conjunction with a rock peg. Really not budget option at all but we might get one pair for bad weather. There's no hurry for us as our awning won't be delivered till may

I have a towsure 390 one. To do everything including the poles takes almost 30.

On the plus side its a great awning and now i have found out its a better fit if i raise that side of the van a few inches it survives some serious battering from the wind and rain.
