Just had a phone call from our storage yard, the one you dread, except, good news, your van hasn't been stolen, but.... They have broken into your front locker for whatever reason, by wrenching it open and cracking off the moulded hinges, also had a go at your door too so trim hanging off. The scumbags. They did also steal someone elses pride and joy which was only 1 year old. Although Im insured the van is so old I dont think they would get it repaired, gonna have a go at doing it myself. Im just so angry that people think they can just get away with this. I feel so sorry for the people whos van has gone, according to the police the theives stole a large 4x4 1hour earlier, then made their way to our storage site. The site owner showed me the hitch lock they had taken off the van they took, looks like they had just used bolt cutters on it, and it was a substantial sold secure lock, just goes to show, if they want it, they get it. Site owner thinks they broken into mine looking for a leg winder as the stoken van had its legs down, who knows, but I wish lots of bad things happen to them, although it never does.
If I say the words I'm thinking I would likely be banned from the forums
It certainly feels that the good law abiding citizen is now the minority.
I just hope the saying what goes around comes around is truthful.
As hard as it is try and stay positive at least no one got hurt during it.
Would it not be worth trying the insurance I have heard of people having something written off and then buying it back for the fraction of the price the insurance paid out ? ?
Smashed down a barrier and bolt cropped their way in by the looks of it. As we have said numerous times, if they want it they find a way. They are on camera but the tow vehicle was stolen so not worried about number plate being seen etc. Just makes you so angry. It has spurred me on though to make a full inventory of everything inside and to make sure nothing can identify our home address etc from inside, was having such a good day until I got the news too, but I have got it off my chest now.
There are some right scumbags out there. It does indeed make your blood boil that they think it is okay to take what is not theirs and make an almighty mess whilst they do it.
Scumbags indeed. Sadly however secure your site is if they want it they will get it which I guess is why insurance is so important and adhering to its conditions sadly.
