Anyone know a make and model of single axle caravans, 4/5 berth, which have lounge type seating areas at both ends of the van which can be made up into double beds please.
Thank you.
Most makes of caravans will have one of those in their range, but most will also only have a wetroom and not a full separate shower type bathroom onboard. Is it single dinette models you are looking for, or double 5 berth models?
The 5 berth models often have the compromise of shorter lounge seating in the front of the caravan, restricting them to double bed making up every night, as there is no option to leave the front benches up as singles, they would be too short unless you happened to be a pint sized person of less than 4ft tall!

I am very new to Caravans in fact we are looking for our first one but we have also been looking for the same type of layout. We have quickly come to realise that the majority of 5 berths have that type of layout with a double bed at each end of the van.
Ours is based on the Elddis Avante. The front seats are long enough to use as singles although my husband who is just over 6 ft tall can't lay fully stretched out without dangling his feet a bit at the end.
Hi.Coastwalkers. Are you thinking of going to the dark side. We are off to pick up our new to us caravan within the next ten minutes but we have gone for a small one .Cheers. Alex
We stayed in rented a couple of nights to see if liked the layout.. was transverse one end and two straight singles other. the transverse double was good until needed loo in night and had to clamber over o/h..Not so good - We now are going for fixed double with singles/seating other end as fixed singles made the van too long for us, plus wanted proper bathroom..
Our Bailey Provence is double dinette with bunk over type layout. The front benches make up into generous double or can be left as singles, one is shorter than the other though. The back benches make up into a smaller double. It works perfectly for the four of us.
To Romany Girl - starting to find a few more makes this weekend, not wanting the dinette, it's nice, but takes up more room.
To JdDerek - We found out some were classed as 'Family Layouts,' we thought FL's would be 4 berths, but now realize they come in 5 and 6 berths, but 6 berths could be more the twin axle ones that we're not looking for.
To Michael - We did spot a similar Bailey 560-5 berth
were keeping it in our favourites.
To Homebird - just had a thought, can the front seats be made into a double bed ? we were assuming that both ends would become double beds, so we could choose which end to sleep. Have noted the Eldis Advante, the name sound very familiar, think we climbed aboard one this weekend down at the Motorhome and caravan Show at West Point, Exeter.
To Anniemacxx - Thanks for info on caravan finder website.
To richerie, will take a peek, two sets of seating either end as double beds is what we're after, so we can chase the sun round. Yes, we have had fun looking, but we're worn out now, up and down, in and out the vans, it's a killer, especially the ones missing their steps.
To Camcrofts, we did laugh to see you two on here pop up, Shh! keep it quiet, were dithering on the grey side at the moment, has something to do with the time we had to cut our 'paid up' holiday short due to extremely high winds. Trying to sleep with one eye open through those whirlwinds and the thought of getting tangled up inside a FC if it did flip over was not going to happen, so we did a moonlight flit. All the caravanners had to do was to take down their awnings and put up with being shook around all night, but were also able to carry on holidaying. Enjoy your new toy Camcrofts, bet you were so excited today. :)
To DARKLORD - Thank you for your kind offer, unfortunately we're not ready to purchase yet as we need to change our car for a 'better puller,' but I will check the 636 Elddis Advante out, sounds like it's a very long one at 636 ?
To jo oj - That was a good idea to test it out first, especially as you then realized that it wasn't the right van for you. definately need to get it right first time. That's why we're not in too much of a hurry.
Now if only I could design one.
