just been buying some goodies for my new van- bought a lock for the wheel, but need somehtinig called Alco hitch lock - anti sway - what is this please, but stupid but if its a lock why is anti sway!!!

It could be you have an alko hitch which is antisway but it will need a lock to deter thieves. If it doesn't have an alko hitch(a hitch with a handle you lift up) then a normal hitch lock will do.
Hope that makes sense unless be totally misinterpreted what your asking

It is a dual purpose device. A hitch lock for security that incorporates a stabiliser to add stability to the caravan. Some will argue that modern vans don't need the additional stability. Personally I prefer to use one. Better safe than sorry.

If you fit one you may need to fit a different alko tow ball to your car. It requires a longer neck on the ball. If you have a swan neck type tow bar it will not need changing.
