As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Ok, you have 'passed'.
But, it was the casual way you put it that had me wondering.
Ok, your outfit isnt the 'norm', and thats what site owners tend to shy away from. Sites are expensive to set up and maintain, so a steady flow of customers is crucial to their existence, as im sure you will appreciate.
Weird graphics = 'off the wall' = 'different' = 'we dont like change'. Blunt, but thats how a lot of site owners see most things that arent a white tin can on wheels.
I know one site owner who greets every single would-be camper at her locked gate. She actually sticks her head through your car window and eyeballs all the occupants.
If she 'doesnt like the look of' (her words exactly) anyone inside, they dont get in. This is before theyve rolled up in a van with trick graphics.
I would think that if you have chosen to 'stand out' - and why not, you have to be prepared for a few knock backs on the acceptance front when it comes to being admitted to sites here and there. As lets be honest, these rulings have been on the go for many years now.
Hopefully, when your van is properly converted (have you considered 'fake' smoked windows? I know its worked for others in the past - cheaper than real ones, but look convincing), it will be easier to gain access to more places.
In future, why not attach a photo of your van in all email correspondence to camp site enquiries? That way they know exactly what your talking about and if they're happy to accept it(which they more than likely will having seen it) or not
Just a thought

I never have, and never will, invite someone to stay that I have met that night.
Damn I quite fancy the idea of being picked up by a young 44 year old

I have a very temperamental personality - 50% temper and 50% mental
We have towed with a VW Transporter for the past 5 years, its just plain with no windows and quite smart and we like it for the convenience(great for just throwing everything in the back without worrying whether we can get it all in. Its never been used as a commercial vehicle. We always tell them what we tow with when we book, to give them the chance to refuse. Up to now no refusals but we do tend to book C&CC as we like the quieter sites. I don't think two grey haired over 60's could be mistaken for hippies so I think were pretty safe there.
Only once we enquired about a site in the Lake district and they weren't keen but said we would be able to leave it in the car park.
The thing is, it isnt what its used for, its what it is, which is most definitely a van = commercial vehicle. This is all most sites go on.
I know plenty of tradesmen who do plumbing or decorating from estate cars. Yet they woudnt get a second look if they rolled onto a camp site.
Ive been on loads of sites that accept 'vans', and even my own is a commercial - of sorts, but ive never either 'made sure' beforehand or been questioned about it.
Just book your van in a site with your land rover,If owt is said when you turn up with the vw, just say it had broke down, I woundnt worry about whats inside the van, Like you said be better with windows in the side of it, As for a T5,they are a fantansic motorHere is a good site for VW T5`s. www.veedubtransporters.co.uk

Well iv just had a look at a site who turned us very rudley down last year.
Now UKCS members are very welcome, but it still doesnt state in the T&C's 'no vans'
