We are buying our 1st van from a work colleague in the next couple of weeks, I'm in the process of getting an insurance quote and need some help on the following:
New for old or current market value? - it's an 8 year old Bailey
Equipment Value? - everything we need is going to be included in the sale, awning, equipment etc
Personal effects insurance - do we need this or do most home insurance policies cover this?
Most companies will have an age limit for new for old, you will need to check each company as the age range varies.
Equipment, look for a good website and just price everything that you are getting with your van up, there's your value.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
If its got a mover, or upgraded aerial, this is also 'equipment', along with such as gas bottles, door screens, even your step.
Your home insurance would usually cover your personal effects, but check for stuff like bikes that cant be 'locked in a shed' as at home.
You dont want to be paying more than a couple of hundred quid or so. Though you will find others that miraculously get cover for £50 'all in'. Ok, till they want to make a claim, mind.
