The weight is just one of the reasons I will never have a motor mover, after 48 years of caravanning.
It's a lot of weight to carry about.

might be best to buy a tent, leave the caravanning.

I can understand removing the bunk etc. We have done that with a couple of vans as there are only 2 of us.
If theOPs van is within the 85% guidelines it should be perfectly ok. I can't see the point in removing much else-other than unessential clutter which tends to accumulate over time!
