Already managed 4 weekends since the season started and loving it. I forgot how easy it all was just to drive off on a Friday after work to a ready-set-up pitch. Can't manage this weekend and my a**e is already making buttons! I am so excited about the months ahead! Makes a nice change from all the travelling weve done since we were last sited for the season - something we will return to at some stage but just not this year!

Glad you are enjoying your seasonal pitch feeblecat.
It is a really good site and no hassle of towing for a while..enjoy
We've managed to do a different walk direct from site each time we've been there Vangoman - a big plus for us. I also enjoy watching all the walkers going past the site - the West Highland Way goes past it as you know. I think we've only used the car once or twice so far. Brill!
Just out of interest how do seasonal pitches work, ie do you pay a set fee for season and come and as you want or do you pay a smaller fee and then pay the nights you use ? We were wondering this at the weekend while on first weekend away this year.

What we paid covers us for 8 months from 1st March till 31st October. That lets us come and go as we please and stay as and when we like with no extra costs. Awning up all season, includes serviced pitch ie electric and TV point, and water and waste point. My daughters and their families can also use it when I don't if they want. Different sites have different restrictions and prices differ enormously. I think it's well worth what we pay for the ease and flexibility of use and of course a fab site in a great location.
Mine includes all use from 1st March to 31st October, including electric, and also winter storage so, effectively, my van stays on it's pitch all year round. We only leave the awning up during the season but, if we want to use the van between November and March, we pay the nightly rate and use a porch awning. We like being able to go away for a few days around Christmas time without worrying about towing in bad weather.
Very pleased you're enjoying your seasonal pitch feeblecat, looks like a beautiful setting. Yes there is a pitch fee for the season which can vary enormously in different parts of the country and will depend on things like the length of season, type of pitch, site facilities and wether or not electric is included, our site in Somerset has gone over to metered hookups with 1000 units of electric included in the pitch fee, any additional " credit " is paid for seperately and added to your card. Site owners will often offer some kind of payment plan to spread the cost of your pitch over the season, with interest charged of course. As with everything, it's important to read the terms and conditions and find out what restrictions are in place before committing yourself. It does take a lot of the normal stresses like towing, setting up and being off site by a certain time out of your break away, but I appreciate it's not for everyone. We're now in our 5th year seasonal, moving sites after 2 years at our previous site and we're considering returning to touring next year for a change of scenery.
