So we went to look at our van yesterday - will get it in a couple of weeks . There are quite a few cupboards that seem to close quite firmly . It's a Sterling Eccles Opal btw .
My question is when travelling what do you keep in the cupboards , what do you put in the car ? Some stuff is obvious - breakables and messy stuff like sugar and oil I will put in the car . But clothes , books , food /fridge contents .... BEER
Seriously top tips please
We leave most stuff in the van, I made some "travel boards" that wedge behind a lip in the cupboard to stop things falling out. We also keep heavy tins in the wardrobe bottom shelf as its over the axle. Things that are for that trip like beer wine and other heavy stuff go in the car. Funny thing is we have teapot that got accidently left on an open shelf and its never moved! Its now been to france twice and scotland! Every large pothole we now go over we always say " ouch, thats the teapot gone"!
All the household gear like food & clothes can travel in the 'van so its there when you need it. Even if you just want to stop for lunch on the way, ideally you should set it up so you can just stop & use it, toilet & everything.
we always leave basic tinned food and sauces plus suger, coffee tea etc in cupboards, everything else goes in car and we sort it on site.We normally fill the fridge aswel so thats cooling on way.Takes us 20 mins to set up,including emptying car and doing water, toilet etc.
All household type stuff - clothes, food Including oils etc, cleaning, bedding, tables & chairs etc in the caravan. Beer & wine in the car. Lightweight awning in the caravan.
