guys
in the van i have 2 locations for the spare wheels i have an alko rack under the van with a wheel attached and i also have a spare in the front box tied up so it doesnt move. so my question is where is the best location the wheel in the front locker helps getting the noseweight of the van up helping with stability of the outfit but the carrier helps giving more space the front locker but obviusly is more weight i know its not a lot but its there. i was thinking of removing the carrier and leaving the wheel in the front locker
I also tow a Challenger 400, I only carry one spare and its in the front locker.
I find I can get the noseweight just right by doing this and having loaded the caravan correctly.
It tows well on the road without issue.

yes mine is the same without it in the locker i striggle to get noseweight up to 75 kg i had no issues on the first run back with the van on after taking stuff out of the car and putting it in the van
I have tried various noseweights up and find that 65kg seems to run best for me. Mind you mine is the 2 berth model which is slightly lighter than the 4 berth.
I tow with a Ford Focus 1.6tdci and noseweight is 65-75kg
Its generally just myself and the wife and once loaded the van comes in around 1100kg. Our payload is 205kg max.
Thats with all the usual kit plus large porch awning, microwave both over the axle and handles a treat.

what sort of mpg you getting towing with the focus mine is 1200kg max weight with a 280kg payload miro is 930 and max laden is 1200kg they are lovely vans with everything we need in it and its a lot better than my old maurauder lol. have you had any problems with your challenger is there anything to watch out for
I recon I average about 35-40 mpg when towing depending on terrain, I get 60-65mpg solo.
Ours is 865kg miro, 1100kg max laden, 205kg payload.
The book does say Max technical permissable of 1300kg but I am happy to stick to the 1100kg.
We love the van and as you say it has everything you need.
Haven't had any problems really and its dry as a bone. It has been well looked after and had one owner before us, full service history.
It was hardly used by the old couple who had it and was stored in a large warehouse when not being used.
