I have been thinking of this for a while now and thought I'd ask if the idea might be worth sending on to the DVLA.

How abut a round speed sticker that says -10mph for caravans as well as the 60 mph ones?

no -(minus)10 mph so that drivers behind know that you have to do 10 mph less than speed limit as in 50 om a 60mph road etc

But you don`t have to do 10mph less than a solo car in a 40 zone, or a 30 or 20 either. So what is the point?

from what i have seen this year so far it should read " caravan on tow expect to be overtaken at 75mph+"

If the sticker needs explaining to users on a caravanning forum then it will mean nothing to the average motorist.

I've never found cars overtaking on a single carriageway national limit an issue. Chances are there'll be a lorry within sight either behind or in front anyhow.
