I use one of these to isolate the battery when not in use. It takes a second to disconnect the battery and I know there's no chance of anything draining it. Been using it for years and highly recommend it. Available on eBay for a few pounds.
I like the look of that - I think I will get one fitted for peace of mind.
I got the tester today from Maplin and it doesn't work! No display, so I assume it's faulty. I will take it back for a refund and fit the above isolator instead.

They of course don't do the same task, one is an "isolator" the other, if it works, measures the current drain. I would use both.
