Just collected my little amazing space, the miniglen
I'm already in love. It's filthy but most seems to be cosmetic, feels dry, no spongey walls or obvious signs of damp and smells alright .
However the feety things you let down to even up the van (I know, my grasp of technical terms is scary!!) some of the bolts have rounded off and not moving with the tooly thing.
Can those big old screws be replaced and how?
Corner steadies, what has probably happened is the thread in the nut that the screw turns in has worn out. The nuts can be replaced but you have to remove corner steady from 'van & its easier if have a vice to hold leg in while you change nut. Otherwise you can buy complete new corner steadies, usually standard items unless your van has a different type. Can you post some pictures of it?
Its the sort of job that if you can use tools & can diy, it is fairly easy to work it out for yourself how its done. You may have a problem removing steady from under 'van if bolts in floor turn though. this thread should help you.
Worth pointing out is that you don't use steadies to jack up & level the 'van. You level side to side by putting a levelling ramp under one wheel. Using steadies to lift caravan is how they wear out & get broken because they are not designed for jacking. It also stresses 'van body unduly.
I've literally got it home today so I'll take pics when it's light tomorrow. It's mucky and in need of a god clean and a spruce up but totally adorable, I have named her Glenda.
The "nut" bit you stick your winder on has been rounded off on 2
Of the legs so the winder just slips around them.
Can these nuts be replaced.. A quick google has shown me trunnions but pictures of these look like the bolt the spindle would go into and I need the spindle itself.. Or do I?

Our first van was a Glen nnevis, I loved it so hard that I rubbed all the exterior paint off!!!! I replaced cushions, curtains and carpet, but all the original fittings stayed. Great holidays, a family of four in a 12' caravan!!!!!
