I have used the Milenco Aero mirrors for some years and found them to be very good and stable. They have a good tapered fitting on the clamp and have fitted all vehicles so far (lent them out too). I do find them to be better if clamped to the bottom edge of the mirror housing too.

I find it tricky to imagine clamping it to the bottom of the mirror housing I will have to have a look at the brand you suggest Ta

Milenco grand aero towing mirrors are the best from my experience and also voted the best by many on this forum too. Some say they won't fit their door mirror and struggle to fit them but they will if you open the vertical clamps far enough and then slide the bar and clamps from side to side they will fit eventually slide in fully. I fitted them on my previous Ford Focus and struggled to fit them to my Volvo but once you know the knack they will virtually fit any car door mirror.

Ok thanks
Just looked and the mirror that I can't fit is a milenco 2006
The squareness of the clamps are too large to insert into the lip on the mirror housing I.e it butts it preventing the clamp fitting in a flat manner
Perhaps the later milenco is different

That's exactly what I said when people say it won't fit but it will if you try hard enough and have proved it to other caravanners on site that it can be achieved. Method: Take one of the clamps off the round bar completely so you have just a single clamp in your hand and then try to fit it on it's own over the door mirror housing and it should fit providing the vertical thumb screw is open far enough. When it slides in then clamp it to the mirror and then do exactly the same with the second clamp on the opposite end and clamp that one too. Enter the round bar that the mirror is attached to through the two clamps and then clamp the bar securely with the two horizontal clamps. The mirror clamp is now set specifically to your vehicle's door mirror so you just do exactly the same with the other door mirror. Once they are set you may have to slide the complete mirror from side to side to miss the operating mechanism but it will slide back providing the clamps are open far enough. If the top of the vehicle mirror is too curved to fit the clamps then try fitting them at the lower edge of the door mirror housing instead of the top.

I know it was rather a long post Steve but glad the information was useful and glad it worked which I was confident it would. It is also beneficial to others as well who have problems fitting these Milenco grand aero mirrors because once you have invested in a pair they should be able to fit the majority of vehicles once they are set which can save you money in the long run and the hassle of searching for various types of towing mirrors.
