In a few weeks we are picking up our first motorhome. Our van is going in as part exchange. What do we HAVE to leave in the van? Thinking of selling all bits off to raise a little extra cash. I am assuming water pump lead stays with tha van? Basin/ chopping board? Scattter cushions? Hate the thought of leaving stuff that will be thrown or sold off by the dealer.

I would leave everything that you get in the new one in the caravan, like step, electric cable but only the scatter cushions if they came with the caravan. I would take the battery. Not sure we would take the water pump lead.

Then anything else that wasn't included in initial equipment specification when caravan was new is yours such as water and waste and EHU cable, step, wheel clamps, awnings etc etc. I would say submersible water pump was original equipment however

Your van would be supplied with an EHU lead from new so should be returned as part of the original equipment as should the water pump and step .

I think a lot of dealers are wary about selling a caravan with a used EHU cable. They would need to get it tested and inspected and ensure it is to the latest regs, which few are.
If I were a dealer I certainly wouldn't risk it.

only leave what you agreed with the dealer,if you have made no agreement leave nothing.
the dealer will take everything out of the van to encourage the new buyer to purchase the items new from him and that will probebly include the spare wheel.
Im on my 6th caravan and nothing was left in them when i bought them.
Sell them.------------- alpiner
